Jason Arday was every white leftist's dream: a black man who claimed to have been mute until he was 11 and illiterate until he was 18, but who still managed to become one of the youngest professors in the history of prestigious Cambridge University. He also made many other claims: he once ran six hundred miles in six days for charity, including completing a marathon with a broken leg and while suffering from a brain tumour; he was one of the initial participants in the multigenerational documentary saga Seven Up (which began 20 years before he was born); and evil white racists sent him a pig's head in the mail in an attempt to silence him.
It was all bullshit, of course, but the journalist who first exposed the lies was initially intimidated by the police who said that he was "harassing" Arday, who made the predictable claim that his critics were motivated by "racism". Thankfully, the investigative journalist was not to be deterred. Cambridge was finally compelled to corroborate the allegations and, in the face of overwhelming public scrutiny, as well as its internal findings that Arday had engaged in extensive acts of academic plagiarism, cut Arday loose.

The final chapter of this sad story occurred today when Arday committed suicide, the last act of a probably mentally ill black man who was taken in by delusional whites and elevated far above his actual talents and accomplishments in life. The whole sad story is a parable for the modern West.

Will leftists learn any lessons from all of this? I'm guessing probably not.
