If you dare fly, you will be miserable

The X comments are a lot of bots, npcs, staff or investors. People claiming the video is fake, lots of "I fly Westjet all the time and never have a problem".

"You get what you pay for". This one pisses me off. The airlines offer a less than satisfactory experience for a higher rate and up sell for everything. Micro transactions for every single upgrade. Then they blame the customer. Soon it will be beach chairs strapped to the wings.

15-20 years ago flying Westjet was great. You weren't charged based on your Carbon Footprint. You had comfortable seats, decent leg room, tvs in the headrests, your luggage was included in the fare price. Staff were nice and accommodating. They treated you like you were the customer and they valued your business. When they brought in the Dash 8 planes and smaller it experience went to shit.

If you've ever flown on their Dash 8 planes, it's a problem.

Now they've reconfigured the planes to squeeze in an extra row. It's become an issue. Who would have saw this coming?

Daily Mail pucked up the story.

However, Samantha Taylor, WestJet executive vice-president, described the redesign differently, saying: 'The cabin has been thoughtfully designed to offer WestJet's welcoming service at every budget.'
'It reflects our commitment to elevating every aspect of the travel experience and meeting guest demand for a broader range of product offerings.'

The new seat layout has allowed the airline to add an extra seating row compared to the previous layout, ultimately reducing the cost per seat.
Someone should force these executives to sit in these bullshit seats and put them on a long flight. They'll be singing a different tune by the end.

It's the perfect example of "Shrink-flation".
