It’s here, the hardest month. It’s bitter cold and piles of snow (hopefully it’s nicer where you are). Christmas tree and decorations came down today.

What do you do to make it through January? We do large jigsaw puzzles and I make a lot of soups. But your best tips and memes are welcome!

I got a good one for all you out there. Dont do if you have heart issues or high blood pressure.

Zinc max but dont over do it. Throw in some copper. Then take Horny Goat weed 1 or 2 pills a day. Space that stuff out i am warning you all now and dont do this at work.

Next dont work out or light work out a day. I repeat dont work out for a day or so. Let the goat weed sink in and zinc / copper. Make sure the wife knows what your doing and get her ready cause your gonna go full animal and its not your fault.

Repeat often or until wife throws up the white flag

Pro tip: if wife throws up white flag u goat maxed, zinc maxed and cooper maxed effectively. I wont even tell you about adding in Q10 and B max stuff cause u got to pace yourself and her.

I love January's wife does too. Being stuck in doors is great.

Some downtime from the gym is worth it but if done right. Some would say that those workouts at home are the most effective workouts.

Where do you buy this horny goat weed, good sir?

If your ticker feels even remotely funny after taking one then stop taking this stuff

This stuff is king for work outs if your body can handle it. Makes workouts your doing now feel easy and when your done working out you will be surprised by recovery time. If on this stuff you will need to do workouts to leave wife alone or else .. you been warned. Even doing workouts might not be enough. This has been my experience.

Why not? Does it give you a boner?

Well that depends on the individual. It will increase blood flow in that region for sure and can lead to some embarassing scenarios. For instance public speaking while on it might be noticeable to an audience. There are other things i wont get into because of obvious reasons but if you try it good luck explaining them to people i.e no i didnt piss myself thats just my meds. By they way its not piss but the baby batter which will dry and bind your dick to your clothes like super glue and while you move begin to cause the most incredible pain that wont ever end till you change your clothes. Very painful and embarassing to fix if no change of clothes. Add that to your list if your gonna try it at work. By the way your all welcome as that info you need to take away from this thread cause i saved you 1 pain / healing time and 2 embarrassment like you have never felt before. I should charge money for the pro tip as i feel like its worth money

Best to avoid taking at work if you have to be part of groups or small meetings. Just sayin

However ...

There is a scenario to use at work that i just thought of which makes the weed a double edged sword

Clarity and Energy. Truck loads of energy. If you use it a lot you can manage all the above over time but you must remember your training like a jedi master. Lots of practice before you take the new skill out into public. Benefit however is clarity and increased stamina / energy. You will have youth like energy not joking. Remember all that energy you had as a teen?? That is the energy. The weed is amazing for sports and working out. Honestly its the greatest thing when it comes to sports. For me it changed everything about sports and working out.

I will touch on clarity a bit. Its hard to describe the clarity other then its there and yes it is noticeable. Things click faster and any fog blocking your thoughts is gone. That is assuming you didnt over do it. If you over take the goat weed you will get a massive headache and shutdown. I manage this by taking a magnesium spray but that you got to watch too or else you swing all over. Best find what works but dont push the goat weed or it can really fook u up. Just cause its natural doesnt mean you can do what you want with it. Other benefits is awareness and alertness. Because your not drowsy ever you simply are aware and alert more. Others will fizzle around you as the work day drags on and become low energy but not you. Even the coffee guy and booster juice chick will crash but not you.

I am mid 40s almost and i can out gun a 20 something hot shot right out of uni with all that youthful energy, enthusiasm, and vigor they have because life hasnt beaten them down yet. My secret the goat weed and yes i am a jedi master on the stuff now after years of training.

Not many decorations, leaving them out for at least another month or two. Have a string of colored xmas lights in the window all year round. Makes happy feels.

I have done a few wled projects from this guys youtube channel. No one near me is doing same so my house stands out big time. Lots of all year round lighting solutions. Did front yard, backyard house and garage

If you need lighting ideas that few are doing around you i recommend maybe a new lighting project for 2026?

In the summer i like to sit outdoors and enjoy a well lit yard with fairy lights in custom patterns and all sorts of other lighting to make the yard more dynamic. Sounds like you all might enjoy something like that as well. 10 / 10 would recommend

All stuff can be found online on Amazon.

I recommend BTF lights. Had some now for a few years and no issues to report with them very durable

I usually have some kind of project that gets me through the winter. Guitars, tube amplifiers, motorcycle, old car. I had snowmobiles for a few years. A great way to have some fun in the winter, if you can afford it. This winter it's renovations on my acreage house. I'm a diy guy so, I always have something on the go.

I don't know I got to go back to work Monday after having two weeks off I feel like I'm fucking dying. I leave the tree up all January it just makes me relax to see it I don't care if it's goofy to people.

Same boat, Monday gonna be rough.

and I know some fucker is going to ask happy to be back. I mean no who the fuck wants to go to work? I hate that shit I just want to go in do my job and leave. My job is front facing with the office I'm to the point I'm having a hard time pretending I give a shit anymore.

I always hate the January doldrums. Lots of rain some years and rain forecast for next few days. Worse month of the year. At least the days will start to get slowly longer which is a positive.

Maybe I will celebrate something. Maybe no rain for two days or a day without a shooting in Surrey...lol

Come visit Saskatchewan for a week. Nice warm -23°C this morning. We could grill a bit outside and then play a game of hockey.

Are those frigid days sunny at least? Here in NS a January day is typically -10 with a heavy sky the colour of lead and a brutal wind coming in off the ocean. It's cozy when you're in a good mood and the woodstove is going strong, but if you wake up on the wrong side of the bed you feel like you've been exiled to Pluto

@ChevChelios
Nah, today it was overcast and it was still -23 in the morning. No sun all day. Wind chill was like -31. Pretty much looks like this:

Hard to differentiate between the sky and the ground when everything is white. But that is still manageable. Even the school buses operate at these temperatures. But if wind chill hits like -40, you will have to bring your kids yourself to school. Happens regularly in my neck of the woods.

Zinc, Vitamin D and Vitamin C.
Running four times a week to keep the head demons out, even if it's -25 outside. Layer up and protect your fingers and toes. If it's really to cold, I hop on the rowing machine. Otherwise on evening a week is reserved for a game of hockey and one evening for going out with my wife (kids stay at oma and opa). And with five kids and work the rest of the week is full. No time to get the winter blues.

It’s amazing how taking 1000 mg of Vitamin C every morning has improved my teeth and gums. You probably have scurvy living here causing bleeding gums.

Fucking renos always renos indoors then lift goto work come home lift then weekend renos. Tried the whole skinny plank cross country gig with the fam. Interesting to say the least but I can’t get down with the spandex feels. Lots of fuck around projects to pass the time.

work and shovel snow. lose my mind by the last week of jan if it hasnt melted a bit because i've run out of places to put that shit...we're already there now, but the liars at the weather network tell me its going to be above freezing for a few days this week, so hopefully some shit will melt.

other than that..just keep knitting and plotting to overthrow the world.

Yea where was global warming when you needed it the most.

We have to be one of the most fucked up species on the planet. When it rains we dont shovel it, but when its frozen we have a need to move it around.

It melted mostly away before Christmas here, but now it's all back again. I hope it melts again too, because last year the ice coming off the roof damaged our eaves and car. (I imagine most people are puzzled at the weird damage on the corner of our car.)

I swear January is 40 days. Pretty much can’t handle the winter anymore, added layer of chaos, sickness and wet feet all the time with the kids here …I’m over it.

I'd say that from New Year's to about Easter is the time of year that makes me wish I still lived in the UK -- even though they have dreary winters over there as well, at least rain doesn't have the same depressive effect on social activity. I was just outside this evening and felt as if my soul were being sucked out of my body by the cold air, so it's no wonder everything shuts down and everyone just stays home

I try to go ice fishing as often as I can, but the older I get the less I like going out when it's below -20 or too windy. It's a 2 hour drive just for me to get to Lake Winnipeg, so it makes for a long day. But my boys really enjoy it too, so that makes it worthwhile.

Otherwise I do some shop projects, snowmobiling with the kids, maybe a hotel weekend with family, etc.
