95% of what Canada Post brings to my mailbox is flyers. As a former 35 year member of CUPE, a similar union to the postal union, I can say this, most, if not all, public sector unions don't give a flying fuck about their members. The leadership of these unions are in it for themselves and, IMO, are in bed with the employers. These parasites will line their pockets with the dues that everyday workers pay while, at the same time, are all buddy buddy with the employers, likely taking money from the employers to keep the members in line and convincing them that they are getting a good deal. My local went on strike in 2005 and I learned a lot from that. It was an eye opener to see how tough the leadership talked , both local and national but, in the end it cost us way more than what we gained. They did their best to make it look like a win but, it was far from that. I watched a similar thing happen when UNIFOR had a strike at our local refinery. Different situation but, the same shenanigans. I fucking hate unions, they have, for the most part, far outlived their usefullness.
