@Hirudinea: When I was a young man I had a genius-level cat who could open closed doors by rotating the doorknob with his paws... the little fucker also used to climb up onto the bathroom sink, knock the tap a little to get the water running, then stare at the stream in fascination (because it looked like a solid object) while occasionally poking at it to confirm that it was actually liquid. We used to call him Science Cat. If he had lived longer I'm sure the can opener would have been totally achievable

The moment any animal evolves to the point of higher being status, humans will kill it. That's just the way we are. We kill the largest and healthiest of the species for sport. Instead of letting that animal pass on superior genetic traits.
