Depends on what you mean by alive I guess, but if you anesthetise a guy and then take his heart he's MAIDed whatever you do.

Alive as in wasn’t dead on the operating table and we just took his heart and hooked it up to some electronics to call it a living heart.

Cos up there it says the heart was reanimated… why would you need to reanimate the heart when the usual process is to flush it and put it on ice after removal unless the patient was dead on the operating table?!

I don't know, but the guy who wrote this probably wasn't in the operating room or is a doctor so "reanimated" may just be a poor choice of words. If it was transported to the states it probably would have been transported like any other heart transplant.
