Nova Scotia approves glyphosate spraying on 3,577 acres of drought-stricken, fire-prone forest

Spraying woodlands would increase the amount of flammable material, compounding already high wildfire risks during a drought that has greatly diminished rivers and water supplies needed to extinguish fires.

From what I’ve read elsewhere, glyphosate is ostensibly used to reduce competition that more commercially valuable trees (pine, spruce, etc.) will have with undergrowth and whatnot. It supposedly helps forests mature more quickly.

So, by that logic, it should only be used in a limited sense, on commercial lands used for logging, etc. Yet, we are not permitted to know much if anything about it? Even though it will undoubtedly worsen the fire risk that has been the pretext for suspending our Charter Rights (e.g., freedom of movement)? Fucking hell.
