Pot wars on reserve

It's part of a widespread and relentless construction boom fuelled by the lucrative cannabis industry — one that the women say is reshaping the community's lands and shorelines, while aggravating long-simmering internal tensions.
"The cannabis shops, they came here and they just have brought a lot of destruction," said Albany.
"What we fought for in '90 is what we're still fighting for today," said Cupples. "But now, it's not against the golf course, it's not against Oka — it's against our own people … whose minds have been infected by greed."
Disharmony on an indigenous reserve? Is that even possible?

Why are they all shaped like kids toys that can't be tipped over?

Apple shaped, its how I describe the typical native woman. They have those little stick legs, lacking any muscle tone at all, they shamble around on.

I think they call that sort of person "popsicle-shaped". There's a similar shape to many middle-aged Scottish-Canadian women, but they have broader shoulders and bigger breasts and aren't as doughy. The modern Canadian diet is toxic for most people but definitely affects Natives worse

@ChevChelios

I've always thought that the modern European diet killed off the people who couldn't take it centuries ago in Europe, but the indians haven't been exposed to it as long so it's still killing them off. Of course the modern diet is even worse for everybody and when you introduce unlimited carbs and pure sugar to people who were mostly hunter/gathers less than 500 years ago you're going to fuck them up.
