Kids wanted new Nintendo Switch 2. They saved their money and got excited to for launch day. As launch day came they couldnt believe one the price two that you dont own your games. I am a strong advocate for owning media. What was nintendos solution to those of us that want media which was the main way people purchased Switch 1 games. Game key cards. A game key card has the activation code on it and nothing else i.e no data. Gamers appear to be rejecting the game keycards. My kids are rejecting everything. We havent bought 2 x switch 2 units nor its games. We most likely wont this time around. Nintendo lost some avid customers by being stupid and it appears other gamers are doing the same.

The reason this is a good tale is it shows that ppl world wide are done with these companies pushing them around.

I honestly hope Nintendo destroys its self this console season. Their hubris for the new world order is being exposed.

Did your kids get a Switch 2? My kids are now PC gamers and loving it.

Let us own our games Nintendo

Anyone else notice that Sony, Microsoft and everyone else started doing the same thing. You get no data just activation code. I am a Doom fan but i have yet to purchase new Doom because of physical media reasons. If i cant own media i will wait till it goes on sale for 5 bucks

You are in Edmonton. You can borrow Switch games from the library for free.

@Jack Layton i heard 1st party games have the data on the cartridge. This makes sense that Libraries could do this only if game is on the cartridge.

3rd party games data is download only and key code or key card.

Imagine having no room on the switch 2 because data is full as games have large file sizes now and your only option is to download more games. Having data on the cartridge means you dont need to worry about internal storage.

@d01tg0d0wn w/e man have fun. I buy Kijiji consoles, rack up gamerscore then sell it. Here's other titles they got...

I have a switch and I’m still pissed off they’re keeping some good games behind an annual paywall like majoras mask for example.

I love Majors Mask. I let my kids play it recently on my n64 they have been having a good time.

They all have 3ds and you can still get game for a reasonable price if you look. Thinking of doing that for them.

As for the switch we tried online for 1 year but it kinda sucked so we stopped

You ever see the short film online some one made. Its well done.

@Squishybear can u use your ps2 disks or do you need roms. I have collected lots of ps2 games but ps2 died. I can fix it but it will take more effort then popping a disk in my pc and running an emulator.

worst thing about my ps2 going is all my light gun games. I bought all i could and now i can not play them anymore

@d01tg0d0wn I believe you can use roms and isos and I think you can just pop in your games as well. You’d have to double check.

I know I had a bit of a panic cos it wanted something from a real game (like the game key or something I can’t remember) and I was thinking well darn it but found a long list of that online anyway.

If you want to play some of the classics, you can use 86box or PCem to emulate a Windows 98 PC with 3D graphics.
It’s a little bit complicated to set up and you still need a Win 98 install disc, but hey, at least I can play Lego Island again!

Switch games and accessories are bloody expensive already, and they jacked up the prices for Switch 2.
Who can afford to play Nintendo games these days? I am not paying $80 for shitty joycons!
