The Liberals suffered their first loss of the new Parliament on Monday after a Conservative amendment to the throne speech reply narrowly passed.

The amendment called for a firm commitment from the government to introduce an economic update or budget before the House rises for the traditional summer break later this month.

Is it already over for con carney? Now he has to table a budget, which will trigger a No Confidence Vote. There's no way he can deliver a proper budget to justify $480 Billion in spending without lying through his teeth

Let's just assume for argument sake that Carney is a stand up guy who is honest about doing what is best for Canada. He is in a party of ideologues that aren't about to ease up on the lunacy even if doing so is in their best long term interest.

Carney being what he was advertised as means either he breaks or his party does. The LPC is a cult and is going to burn the less devoted members.

Maybe one day I will have confidence in Ottawa. Isn't going to be today and tomorrow doesn't look good either. Maybe have to wait another 2 weeks.

Ottawa is a 360 kilometre perimeter that shouldn't be that hard to contain, ostracize and carry on without. To hell with western/provincial seperation, we should just seperate from Ottawa. Way less mess confined to a smaller space. If we can't control a 360km border we don't deserve to be a country anyhow.

The BQ will probably vote to bring down the government, so it would fall to the NDP. Now that they've turned Jughead, even without a leader, they may feel like they have nowhere to go but up.

Hirudinea you were exactly right! Seems the non confidence vote was solely kabuki theatre today with all the uniparty players in full regalia! But if you are not following X closely then you have no idea what the next torpedoes are going to be flying up your ass... If you like torpedoes enjoy, cause your anus is about to get a right seeing to...

Oh I know I'll stay silent and secret... the system will let me and my family enjoy my current living standard... have you seen how the uuukraine is undertaking soldier recruitment (for but one of many examples), how are farmers faring in South Africa?, Young girls in Sweden or France?, etc. etc.

As the famous line was from a certain Tarantino movie
“I’ma get medieval on your ass.”

– Marsellus Wallace from Pulp Fiction

Pulp-Fiction-ball-gag-scene

Context: After boxer Butch double-crosses Marsellus Wallace (Ving Rhames) by winning his boxing match, Butch tries to escape but is noticed by Wallace at a stop light. A chase ensues which finds both characters captured, bound and gagged in the basement of a pawn shop by unsavory security guard and the shop’s owner.

The two men also happen to have their own slave they call “the gimp” whom they do all manners of unspeakable acts to.

Butch escapes deals some damage of his own and decides to free Wallace as well.

Wallace retaliates on his former captors, one of which raped him with some very unkind words.

Why is it great: The line was preceded by all the things Wallace was going to do to Zed the security guard; none of which were good. The line has become somewhat of a pop culture hit being used in many contexts since.

The current Urban Dictionary defines the phrase “get medieval” as:

“To physically torture or injure someone by means of archaic methods, usually involving tools frequently used for blacksmithing or traditional feudal era torture. Example of such include thumbscrews, flesh peeling, and branding. “

With your silence, you become "Zeb the security guard". Wallace is the cabal. I pray, as I have been for at least 10 long years it doesn't come to this but the torpedo blacksmith tools are being sharpened...

...a firm commitment from the government to introduce an economic update or budget...

Update: We don't have a budget completed.

Up and here is chili con carney's 3 coiler put on the house floor so graciously today

Prime Minister Mark Carney during Tuesday's Question Period was grilled on the Liberals' attempt to skirt producing a spring budget.

The House the night before voted in favour of compelling cabinet to release a fall budget, a non-binding amendment to the Throne Speech delivered by the thing last week.

Four Liberals were no-shows, and the motion passed by two votes with all opposition members in favour.

"We take note of last night's motion. But what Canadians deserve [are equalization transfers,]" said Carney.

Alberta exit stage right ASAP!!

Reading about those no-shows I can just imagine a Liberal MP crawling out of bed with a pounding headache after a night spent downing taxpayer-funded premium booze and thinking, "shit, there was something important I needed to do today... fuck, what was it... something about a 'boat'? No wait, fuck, it was a 'vote'"
