Wildfire Season Returns to Canada, Forcing Provinces into State of Emergency

The Canadian provinces of Manitoba and Saskatchewan declare a state of emergency over fast-growing wildfires.

“This is the largest evacuation Manitoba will have seen in most people’s living memory,” said Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew on Wednesday.

At least 17,000 evacuation notices have been issued, rivaling the 25,000 evacuations during the massive Red River Valley flood of 1997. The communities of Flin Flon and Cross Lake were told to evacuate, along with the Cree Nation communities of Pimicikamak and Pukatawagan. The evacuees will be sheltered at community centers and arenas in Winnipeg.

This is how they get the guns they just banned. They couldn't get Canada post to take them, local law enforcement didn't want to take them.

Light some fires, declare a state of emergency, issue an evaluation order. Walk in and take the guns uncontested.

Keep an eye out, don't be surprised when doors are kicked in. It's been done before.

This is exactly the shit the RCMP did in High River in 2013. They kicked in doors and collected guns under the guise of searching for people during a flood evacuation.

Given how things have gone the last few years, I automatically assume that a healthy percentage of these fires are intentionally set. You know, because of climate change, and all that.
