No amount of exposure ends this horrid corruption.

As in California, not a foot of track will be laid but the proper wheels greased. I'll probably be in the ground before this happens.

Project promoter Alto, renamed from VIA HFR, will now sign a contract with Cadence setting out the terms of the co-development phase of the project. This will see the government spend C$3·9bn over six years from 2024-25, in addition to C$371·8m provided in the 2024 budget.
Already greased with almost $4.4 billion and that just for the "co-development" stage. Nothing build, billions already spent.

The entire massive geographic expanse of Canada beyond this tiny bubble should just separate.

I've joked for years that Canada should seperate from Ottawa. Wall it off and tell them fuckers to stay in there and only let them out if they got the right documents. No Ottawa, no shitty federal government, seems like the easiest solution to me...

I hear those things are awfully loud. And is there a chance the tracks could bend?

"Sorry Mom, the mob has spoken!"

But seriously I believe that if you want to build a high speed train that a suspended monorail would be a much better way to go, it could be built above existing railway right-of-way, it would be immune to snow delays (which we have here in Canada believe it or not) and it could never plow into a moose (which we also have). Check this picture out,

Imagine that as long as a Via train, above existing rail tracks running at 300 km/h from Halifax to Vancouver, and NOT built by SNC-Federal Largesse! I'm a dreamer, like John Lennon, but not a commie, so not like John Lennon at all.
