The federal government is planning a multibillion-dollar, pandemic-style bailout for workers and businesses if U.S. President Donald Trump follows through on his threat to impose 25-per-cent tariffs on Canadian goods as early as Feb. 1, two sources say.

Question: how much do the feds want weak borders, drugs, and illegals? Answer: to the point they'd rather start a trade war with the world's largest economy responsible for over 80% of Canadian trade. They're completely willing to destroy the entire Canadian economy and untold jobs and lives, and they don't give a single, solitary fuck.

Already spending over a billion to increase border security. The number of asylum claims from people crossing illegally is down to 12 a day.

The notion that canada hold any decision making in the trade war happening is ludicrous. The US will have a trade war if they want one. At this point the reasons are bogus. Trump got Trudeau to fire himself and pretty much fix the border issue in less than 3 months. (It shows how deliberately feckless the libs were.)
But it's rather silly of Trump to persist instead of collecting his trophy and bragging to canadians he fixed our porous border before even taking office. But no, now if he backs out it'll look weak and even magnifying and pointing out the success of his policy will only look like cope.

It's 99 gangs, which is still alot, but considering how unskilled the process to recombine into fent is, it's not surprising that they spread the network. The importation of fent is easy to stop at the border, but precursors are more difficult. They transform them in pre-precursors which are not yet illegal. They'll keep changing the composition to play keep away with the regulation.

Playing that "find the chemical game" is really a poor way of going about it. The best way to get rid of fent, is to excise ourself from trading with china and south-east-asia. But wait, now we're hit with tarrifs which force us to diversify from the US because they are now economically unreliable. Brilliant, we're being pushed into trading more with china and s-e-asia.

How about we show we are doing something? Start with repealing Omar Khadrs citizenship, freeze his bank accounts and re route that money to buy scanners to find fentanyl chemicals. Also a perp walk onto a plane similar to what Trumps doing would help bigly

I honestly think that the above commentators are too optimistic.

This is what I think the Liberals and other assorted hangers on currently plan, in no particular order:
1) Cut another deal with Singh re keeping Parliament alive after Carney is presumably voted in within the party
2) Deliberately start a preventable trade war with the US (in progress).
3) Use the trade war as an excuse to bring in more pandemic level stimulus for workers out of work by the trade war.
4) Transition trade war support to universal basic income (UBI) and digital id's (speculative, but Carney has talked about UBI using other terms and we know the government has been working on digital ids as well)
5) Use tariff money on US sourced goods to fund other government activities.
6) Until (if?) that comes in - print money like crazy to pay for all of this.

So okay, just because they may have a plan doesn't mean it will work. On the other hand... this sounds to me very much like a sneaky way to bring in permanent socialism/communism etc.
