B.C. Conservative leader alleges voting irregularities in critical Surrey-Guildford riding

John Rustad, the leader of the B.C. Conservative Party, says his party has uncovered what he calls voting irregularities in the critical Surrey-Guildford riding – where the margin of victory was just 22, and which gave the provincial New Democratic Party its majority.

Rustad says his party has been digging into many reports of issues that came up during the fall election. He says his party has found what he calls a number of irregularities in the election.

"Part of that is how voting happened in seniors facilities, part of that is people who may not have lived in the riding, part of that is people who voted twice, and there's other components as well, so there’s still a lot of things that we’re looking into," Rustad said. "For example, we’ve had lots of reports of people who are not Canadian citizens (who) voted in this election, people who are not Canadian citizens who received an invitation from Elections BC to vote.”

Be interesting. I have no clue what will happen. Guess we will see what they plan t do. Personally that riding should be a re vote. If there was a revote and cons win the NDP have the Greenies backing them up. There is also an NDP who is going through cancer treatments.

ayn_rands_ghostWhole God damn election should be redone.

Started using tabulators to count votes to increase speed.

Stopped counting completely for a week for some reason.

Longest election count ever.

Finally, after a week, the party in power and in charge of the election claims they won. Trust us bro.

But it's only 1 area that had irregularities?

This is why I have no confidence in elections. There is absolutely no way you can verify the number they spew out on the screen at you. It's complete faith based. And yes, you can explain all day about the different ways we secure the vote. I don't care. Again, there is absolutely no way you can verify the number they tell you. It's complete trust in the government, something I do not possess.

I covered it extensively. Followed closely, it was incredibly frustrating. The vote counts and recounts went on for well over a month.

There were problems in multiple ridings. Tabulator issues.

The NDP rigged the rules prior to the election. It's well documented.

Corruption is baked in, I have zero faith in any elections worldwide. They don't even try to hide the corruption anymore.

Will the RCMP get involved?

UPDATE #2:
Elections BC has not asked the RCMP to investigate

Elections BC is conducting a review of that race ... but does not have a timeline for when it will be complete.
RCMP... says anyone with a complaint about B.C. elections should report it to Elections BC...

Let the show begin!

UPDATE #3
Conservative candidate has officially filed a petition in B.C. Supreme Court

Randhawa emailed the district electoral officer for a copy of the voter participation list...
Elections BC denied his urgent request for the list siting (sic) the preparations for upcoming judicial recount as the reason...
Elections BC told Randhawa via email to not contact Elections BC, including the district electoral officer about any request for material related to the recount.
...was told they would have to wait until the judicial recount was over.
...after the judicial recount was over. He received a reply from Sull that stated while his request is allowed it is not mandatory for Elections BC to provided the requested information. Furthermore, he was asked to explain why he need the list
both residents had limited familiarity with English and that both were told by a staff member "to mark a cross in a box" on their mail-in ballots. (They) said they felt rushed and "under duress" when casting their vote and worried that they would be "mistreated or abused by staff members at the lodge" if they did not follow their instructions...

That a, right there, be a some extra spicy curry dish.
