so far i have had a few people tell me to say happy holidays instead to which i said no i don't think I will. Some have been receptive but look around like something criminal just happened. CSRs grumble and gnash their teeth. One turned my cinnamon buns upside down i was purchasing and all the icing stuck to the top of the box which made me mad but also made me realize they were more triggered then i thought and that made me happy. My youngest sons hockey team i had one dad come unglued to which people had to intervene and stop him from fighting me infront of my kid and his. His kid started crying which was sad but maybe the dad will smarten up. The look on that mans brown face was hilarious and is the best present a person like me could ask for this Christmas.

Hows is it going in your parts of the world telling people to have a Merry Christmas?

On the flip side i have had many around me also say Merry Christmas to myself. Not so much from cashiers, or people in stores but more at the outdoor community rink or at my kids sports stuff. I home school and the homeschool groups parents all say it. I have on one or more occasions heard people non apologetically go out of their way to others around me say Merry Christmas as to drown out the happy holiday ppl.

I think next year we will be saying it even more.

I have never met a person in my life who complained about people saying "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays". In my opinion that's all just bullshit Internet rage bait for people who have too much time.

I will say Merry Christmas but there will still be people coming on Dec 23 to warn about The Holiday Rapist.
(What the hell is the reference?)

now i need to know wtf the holiday rapist is...wtf.

i mentioned elsewhere previously that our inter-town buses have MERRY CHRISTMAS on the digital banner...first noticed it last year and noticed it again this year...warms my cold, cold heart...

and yea...i wish everyone a merry christmas, because why wouldnt i? bonus points if it offends you.

d01tg0d0wnWhere the hell do you live to have evoked such reactions? Are you the last white man in a sea of browns? Or is everyone around you a bunch of gay commies? Or both?

Going well here. Guy at the costco checking receipts as I left said it to me first, notable.

@d01tg0d0wn A brown dad of a kid on your son’s hockey team freaked out? You have to give more details on that.

Surprisingly well in downtown Toronto. My law firm actually had a "Christmas tree decorating" event, with that name, and there were no issues.

I've been saying it openly both personally and in a business context and I've had a few Happy Holidays in response, but also enthusiastic Merry Christmases.

You find yourself asking, what is the holiday that we're all celebrating? Can you not name it?

Naturally, my daughter's school's "Holiday Season Concert" was dedicated to "light" and spoken to its importance for Diwali, Hannuka, and even Kwanzaa, but did not have anything to say about, say, a star that led 3 magi to Christ's manger, etc.
