Our Constitutional Mistake: All we have ever done is move power around - Bruce Pardy

He had me until the end, where the proposed solution is legal consent of the governed. That sounds like a naive pipe dream. Law is useless unless it is backed by Power. What would incentivize the bureaucratic state and non-governing managerial elites to give up or suddenly share power among the plebs? Why would they do such a thing? Even if they did, what counter-elites could serve as a check and balance against the sovereign bureaucratic state in the future? We no longer have power in any aristocracy or church authority. Makes no sense.
