i think things are pretty just right now if im being honest. I have 'insider' conversations with my family and community members and a lot of the older folk know the residential schools being awful was an exception, not a rule. if anything im against the church burnings because if you go north on the mainland tons of natives are devout christians.

I do get some pleasure out of getting a rise from a few people here because I know no matter what I'll say I'll be talked down to by them.

it would be nice if natives could collectively acknowledge that the europeans brought a lot of good to us. and it would be nice if the whites could collectively acknowledge that the europeans did a lot of bad to us. the part that no side ever seems to talk about is that the people in positions of power who were doing the most harm to natives in the willingly malicious sense were Masonic.

Hey I would love that, and I will acknowledge that we whites have done a lot of bad things to you indians, there were no angles on either side really. My family in Europe way back in time everytime they were invaded they had to speak the language of the invaders. Natives are like this only happened to us in all of time. Fook off. My great grandma spoke 8 languages. If they didnt learn the language of the invaders they were killed. Lots were raped, tortured, murdered. I dont even know how i am alive given most of my family was hunted and killed as well as driven from their property. Some swung from their own fruit trees.

Muh ppls issues are stupid. Talk to an Albanian or someone from the Baltics who are living in Canada. The stories they will tell you are nightmare fuel. my people were driven from their land. Literally killed. They fled with no money in their pockets to Canada. When they got to Canada the natives were being taken in by the Churches but my people sat out in the cold because of why? We didnt speak the language and were white. Winter was negative 60 degrees. We dug building out of the ground to survive. Drilled our own fresh water wells. Hunted and killed our own food. Again how the fook am I alive

I'm tired of this identity politics bullshit. Racial identity only goes so far. You can't collectively appropriate the lives lived by previous generations through skin color/racial identity. If you didn't personally experience it, you shouldn't be talking.

My family didn't come to Canada until the 1910's, when they did. They started a flower shop and helped their local community. Their children fought in WW2. My family played no part in Colonialism in North America. I refuse to be lumped into your generational guilt grift simply because I am Caucasian and of European descent.

Dividing people by racial lines does nothing but cause strife and division. It erases the reality of actual lived experiences.
