What's in a name?
He got merk by the Yakuza+CIA because he wanted the US to leave Japan. Now it's a vassal state that sold its soul to the US for 30 pieces of silver. They enjoyed a boon in material gain, but they are now a dying civilization. Western indeed. What could never gain traction again is freedom for the Japanese people, socialism is on par with the West. They have large social welfare system on par with Sweden as a % of GDP and are increasing their immigration faster than any country not name canada or south korea.
It's such a shame, a young nationalist killed an old nationalist. They couldn't even let Otoya live, they had to merk him in his prison cell too, that's how much they needed to kill the nationalist spirit of Japan.

Just asking, but was there ever freedom in Japan? I mean it's pretty rare in oriental societies.

@Hirudinea They had the freedom to be japanese and would have had the freedom of being a modern Japanese society. But yeah, they certainly would not have gone for the Liberal Regime that prevails in the West.
It seems to me that "Western" cultured asian countries kind of do speedrun into destroying their civilization through, principally, abhorrent work/student culture. I wonder if the reason why Liberalism is destroying their civilization so quickly is because it's a foreign parasite, whereas it destroys us slower because it is homegrown? Some things we'll never know.
