Would love to read about how people survived the Great Depression (1930's). My grandparents would have been teens through it. I'm hoping reading about the depression would provide insights for today.

not a book, but i did just stumble upon this podcast that i'm going to listen to later.

@saymyname Very interesting! I read through the transcript. Seems like the biggest thing is they had their own cows and chickens. I was venting a bit the other day because ducks and chickens are very cheap on Kijiji but the bylaws here prevent me from owning them. Would be great to have our own egg supply.

@FreedomTruth yes. we have that issue here too with the bylaws. i really only have one set of neighbours that i think would notice, the rest are completely oblivious to all things. i really should just do it.
