Purge function not working fully?

I tried to purge my account today, but it shows that I still have 223 messages. Is this a glitch that will fix itself or do I need to fully delete my account and start again to fully cleanse myself of filth?
 
It's a glitch, sometimes the purge function doesn't reset the message number.

And sometimes it actually makes the 'reaction score' negative 1, 2, 3, or 4, which is even more strange.
